Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and its backwaters, a network of canals popular for cruises. Its many upscale seaside resorts include specialists in Ayurvedic treatments. Inland are the Western Ghats, a mountain range whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as abundant native wildlife. The 'Backwater Retreat' covers two beautiful backwaters and a few beaches to the southernmost side of Kerala.
On arrival at Kochi, the most charming city of Kerala, board your cab and head to Kumarakom (70 kms / 2 hrs). Check-in to the hotel as you reach. Go for a half day sightseeing tour which includes a boat ride in the backwaters and visit the Kumarakom bird sanctuary. Stay overnight in Kumarakom.
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Allepey. En-route visit Mararikulam beach. Check-in to houseboat in Allepey by noon. Spend rest of the day at leisure in houseboat. Surf amidst the paddy fields and locales. Stay overnight in houseboat.
After having a delicious breakfast from the houseboat, check-out and drive to Trivandrum. On arrival, check in to hotel. Leave for a sightseeing tour of the city in the evening. Explore beaches like Kovalam, Varkala etc. Overnight stay in Trivandrum
After early morning breakfast, Proceed to Kanyakumari. Visit Vivekananda rock and Statue of Tiruvullavar by motor boat. Later in the evening have some shopping in the beach side streets and enjoy some sea food from here. Get back to Trivandrum by night. Stay overnight in Kanyakumari.
Check out from the hotel by morning and bid farewell to the capital city of Kerala. Get dropped at Airport or Railway station for your onward journey back to hometown. Tour concludes!
